I mentioned in my last post that I had set myself a challenge of reading 40 books in 2015. So far, so good. I might extend it to a 52, one book a week. I set it lower because life always gets in the way of a good book, but overall I managed to balance it out. I’m currently at 11 out of 40, and January’s not over!! It helped that I selected a couple of cozy mysteries, mind you, but I do love them! Not award winning literature, but highly enjoyable when you need to switch your brain off. So, in this post I’m going to share with you some books I enjoyed and helped me get through the coldest month of the year. Don’t worry, I’m not going to give you spoilers!
Hello 2015! First post of the year and it feels like it’s been such a long time! The Holidays were so good, two whole weeks off, lots of blanket, movie and reading time. I received a Kindle paperwhite for Christmas, and I did put it to good use already. It had been so long since I had time to indulge in books for as long as I wanted. I’ve reactivated my Goodreads accounts and set myself a challenge of 40 books for the year, I’ve already read 7 so it’s looking good!
It’s our last post for this year! We made it through a second year! I’m so thankful for this group of ladies that blog with us. We’re a small bunch, but we’re a good one! We don’t know yet how many changes our circle will go through for 2015, but one thing for sure, we plan to keep on posting.
I want to take this moment to wish everyone a very merry Christmas! May your hearts be filled with delight and wonder, and may you enjoy the family time and keep the traditions alive. May they bring you many happy memories to make you anticipate the next holiday season.
I’ll be honest, I don’t have much to write about at this time. I haven’t taken any new photos in the last two weeks (well, I did, but they’re still in RAW and unedited, sleeping in my memory card). I’m busy as can be at work and my little athletes are going on strong. Arenas and gymnasiums are where I hang out. It’s either freezing cold or steaming hot. Mostly, these days, you’ll find me knitting, crafting or reading. I have knitted myself a new cowl/hoodie combo and might just knit a couple more to give as Christmas presents. I’ve also made bookmarks with some of my work, a weekend crafting project that turned out really nice 🙂 Oh! And that book, The storied life of A. J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin was such a lovely read. Short, sweet and beautiful. Now, I’ve started reading the Inspector Montalbano series by Andrea Camilleri, so far so good!
Here we are, at the end of October. That means autumn is well on it’s way out already, at least the glorious part of it. Trees are almost bare now, and can you believe that (no, I’m not going to say the S word!) fluffy white stuff is expected this weekend? I still enjoy walking in the woods, now that leaves cover the ground, but they’ll soon turn to a greyish-brown matter and, as nature rules it, they’ll become part of the whole renewing circle again. November is by far my least favorite month of the year, though I absolutely love the color grey, when all my environment turns to that particular shade of dull, sleepy and cold grey, I can’t wait for it to be covered in white. I could just skip right to December!
