I’ve always been an avid reader, for as long as I can remember. I read anything and everything! My mom taught me to read when I was four, before kindergarten. I never stopped reading since that day when a new world opened it’s secrets to me. And such amazing secrets they were! I used to read all day. I remember being as old as my youngest and waiting for the public library doors to open. They would open only once a week where I lived at the time. For the young reader that I was, once a week was simply not enough, so the library ladies made a deal with me, they created a special card for me, that had no book limits on it. I was the only one with that special card. Everyone else had that 5 book a week limit, but since I probably read 5 books a day, well, it just wasn’t the right card for me! I would even write my own stories at that young age too, mysteries solved by a group of kids, me and my friends mostly. None of these pages still remain though, but the exercise was a good one.
All Hallow’s Eve
On All Hallows’ Eve the dead will arise
to walk the earth amidst you and I,
Barriers are breached ‘tween their world and ours
as lost souls flow forth and cause men to cower,
The Lord of the Dead releases their bonds
to roam the creation from dusk until dawn
The Evil of the night is kept at bay
by fashioned masks bearing unholy traits
while candles are lit so the spirits may find
the family and friends they left behind,
Listen to the whispers in songs on the wind,
They’ll reveal your future if you welcome them in,
The dearly departed are invited to feast,
or tricks will be played if you deny them a treat,
Forgotten are the tales the elders once weaved,
but they come back to haunt on All Hallows’ Eve.

There’s so many things I like about autumn, the crisp mornings, the sunny afternoons, the gorgeous warm colors everywhere. Skies seem bluer too. It’s time to get the warm blankets out, to start the fireplace, to get cozy.
It’s always a time when I feel so inspired, but mostly, it’s not about photography. It’s about everything else! Since we spend more time indoors, I tend to get crafty every Autumn. I’ve started creating jewelry with my photos, and loved it! And now I want to do more. I did photo coasters and I’ve started knitting again, and so many hats and cowls await me. I’ve also dabbled in paper mache, yes, you read right. I had a project in mind for a while, and I just jumped in!
It’s the little things, all of them. That makes me happy.
It’s waking you up with hugs and kisses.
It’s walking you to the bus everyday, rain or snow.
It’s leaving a note in your lunchbox.
All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I’ve been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don’t mean anything
When you’ve got no one to tell them to
It’s true… I was made for you
Everyone has a story to tell, each unique and beautiful in its own way. Every line, and every scar being a milestone, a testimony of our journey in this life. Happy ones, anxious ones, ones we’d prefer not to remember. Life draws itself on our face, sculpting it, giving it its own character and wisdom.
About Me
Dreamer. Wanderer. Artist.
Barefoot lady who talks to birds. Who loves the wind and her morning coffee.
Who sings out loud and still believes in magic.
Perfectly imperfect, and that suits me just fine.
