That’s a lovely quote, isn’t it? I started out inspired by my recent photos, and wanted to share with you my love for florals and when searching for the perfect quote to fit the images, this one popped and stuck with me.
March is finally here! I love this month for many reasons. First, it’s the beginning of spring and you just can’t beat that! The winters here are long and cold, so every day that takes us closer to see the snow melt is a blessing. And March also means spring break! Having the kids home for a whole ten days is wonderful, pausing the stressed routine, not having a schedule and only doing fun things is just great! That’s what we are doing this week, and that’s why this post is a little short 🙂 I’m on vacation mode!
I stumbled upon some very creative double exposure works on Pinterest, and since then, I know I have to try it! I already have so many ideas in my mind! I’ve been reading and watching tutorials, and tried playing with a couple of my images. So far, the results are far from what I have in mind. The photos I used weren’t taken with a double exposure intention, so it’s hard to make them fit together. But yet, it creates something visually interesting. I mostly played with blending modes and masks so far. And most of my images were on black backgrounds, results are better on a white background from what I’ve seen… I know I have a long way to go, but I’m finding I have a lot of fun in the learning process, so that makes it worthwhile anyway. And I might just discover another side of me I had yet to express so far in my photography work. I haven’t been that excited to try something new in photography for a while and that is a good thing! When I’ll achieve the results I want, I’ll make sure to share the how-to with you guys 🙂

When it comes to photography, I know where my heart belongs. In fine art, still life or portraiture. Though in the last year, I have been trying harder to get more landscapes in my portfolio. And I must admit, it ain’t easy for me. I just don’t “see” it. Each and every landscape photo I take is a challenge, and not often am I satisfied with them. A fine art composition talks to me, a portrait speaks to my soul. A landscape? I’m still trying to figure out what it brings to me.
I had some time by myself, all my boys were busy some place. I was left with some time on my hands to do whatever I pleased. It was such a nice day, the sun was shining and everything was covered in a fresh coat of snow, it wasn’t even cold. So, my “me” time started with some pretty cupcakes I bought. I set my stuff up by the window to get the best light, got my plates and old silverware and took some lovely images. And, of course I got to eat some of those cupcakes!
Dreamer. Wanderer. Artist. Barefoot lady who talks to birds. Who loves the wind and her morning coffee. Who sings out loud and still believes in magic. Perfectly imperfect, and that suits me just fine.
