Well, if you know me just a little, you know I have a passion for vintage stuff, antiques even.  Unfortunately (or fortunately, the hubby would say)  my wallet stops me from hoarding all of those treasures I find.  I could spend daily on stuff, now that we have access to Ebay and Etsy,  and that everyone is ready to throw these pieces away, spending too much on them could be so easy.   It’s great that I still have enough self-control to resist temptation most of the times.

For me it’s about the beauty of the item just as much as the story it holds.  I have many things in my house inherited from family, that I could never get rid of.  Antique furniture in the dining room, the wedding present my grand-parents got…  My grandma’s old sewing machine that still works today…  A toddler bed my great-grand-father had built for my dad, that both my sons slept in…  All these take a lot of space in my house, and in my heart too…

And all of the new pieces I fall for, because they’re oh so pretty!  sigh…

I collect vintage cameras (who would’ve guessed?) and one in particular still holds a mystery.  There’s still film in it.  What could be on it?  A wedding?  Maybe it belonged to a spy and hold some top secret photos, who knows?  One day I’ll bring it to the lab and see what’s  in there!  For now, I still let my mind wander…

This post is part of a blog circle, so enjoy the pictures, then please make your way around it and leave some love…  Go to Abby’s blog next…
