Sisterhood Stories – Tulips

I used to shoot every single day.  Everything that striked my fancy or caught my eye. Now I shoot in spurts.  When it takes me.  I then shoot a lot, and put the camera away until it hits me again.  I think this winter has been hard on many, on most days when I get home, I just want to grab a coffee and rest.  This winter is endless, we had snow yesterday and a comfy -20C temp. Weather people have predicted spring temps under the median.  Can you feel my excitement? I can’t wait to shoot outside, with spontaneity, catching the light as it shows.  But for now I need to be organized if I want to produce some images because if I listen to that little voice, it’ll tell me to head back to the coffee machine…

Here’s a couple of images I’ve taken, on my latest shoot.  I had bought tulips, so I planned what I wanted and got it done. That’s usually how I work, I decide what I want, get the supplies or props I need, write things down or even sketch some images if needed, then I shoot away. I edited them with a more film-ish base, for I wanted a certain mood for them. I used my tulips until all I was left with were petals.  Most of these images are already available as RM work, I think that planning them ahead with a purpose in mind helped building a cohesive collection that would benefit my portfolio 🙂 (See right sidebar).

I haven’t shot anything else since then, but, I’ve just bought more fresh tulips 🙂  This post is part of a blog circle, visit my friend Abby and leave some love along the way…
