Winter is always my least inspiring season. Even though it’s beautiful when it snows, it doesn’t stay pure white really long… Soon it gets that mushy brown color that leaves me feeling blah… Winter is also my busiest season at work, so that leaves me with very little time for taking photos. But when the urge strikes, what can you do? No time, and outside’s a mess? You go to the grocery store! And while you prep your fruits and veggies, you play along and take some pictures. Grab supermarket flowers to top it off, and you’re on a roll! That is proof that almost anything can spark your inspiration, it doesn’t have to be complicated, use what you have in your kitchen and play!
Snow-flakes
~By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Out of the bosom of the Air,
Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,
Over the woodlands brown and bare,
Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
Silent, and soft, and slow
Descends the snow.
Even as our cloudy fancies take
Suddenly shape in some divine expression,
Even as the troubled heart doth make
In the white countenance confession,
The troubled sky reveals
The grief it feels.
This is the poem of the air,
Slowly in silent syllables recorded;
This is the secret of despair,
Long in its cloudy bosom hoarded,
Now whispered and revealed
To wood and field
For today’s post I borrowed the words from Nelsa Roberto, they express perfectly the reality of being a hockey mom…
My Hockey Mom Prayer
May I find the best route to the hockey arena in rush hour traffic. May there not be any road closures, beginner drivers or other stressed out hockey parents in my path.
May The Boy have remembered all his equipment. May I hold my incredulous yell of frustration back when we’re running late and he tells me that he MIGHT have left his hockey gloves on the floor back home.
First, let me wish you a very happy new year! May it holds all the promises you are dreaming of xox
I’ve been trying to find my “one little word” for 2013 for some time now. I wanted a bright and happy word, one that would carry my hopes and dreams, but just couldn’t settle on such a word. The only one that really stayed with me with was “Quietude”… It’s definitely what I need in my life at the moment. To quiet my doubts about my career, my parenting skills, my whole life in general. All I want is a soft, tranquil, happy daily life. Not much I know, but it’s just enough for me.
I told you I was getting an Elf on the shelf this year, to create new and fun traditions in our home. Here’s a few of Kobe, our Elf having fun and leaving a bit of Christmas magic all around the house.
About Me
Dreamer. Wanderer. Artist.
Barefoot lady who talks to birds. Who loves the wind and her morning coffee.
Who sings out loud and still believes in magic.
Perfectly imperfect, and that suits me just fine.
